The Nelvana Gallery opened on the fourth floor at the Corus Quay building! Our first show displayed the design talents of our department! It was based on Gatchaman! A much loved Japanese cartoon from the 1970s. Designers competed to be the final designers for the reboot show. Hopefully we’ll be greenlit and Gatchaman will have a new home and new look!
Here’s our poster that Rob Risek created as a collage of the designs:
Finally we have some artwork on the floor. I’m very proud to say that this new space will be run by myself and superstar Melanie Daigle.
Art for Water’s campaign has closed! With over $2500 raised, we are ready for the next step. Next week we have the fortune of being able to hold a bake sale during Corus’ 2012 Spring Art Show to raise funds for Art for Water. Then, in the 2012 Summer Art Show we will be holding the anticipated art auction for signed and original work! I am hoping to put all the artists work into a book and have all proceeds go towards the cause, but the math will have to work out (ie. what we make from the book sales is more than what we put into it).
Art for Water’s site is closed for now. But if you’d like to see what it looked like, here are some screenshots.
This is a rough colour key for my book. You can see the initial house boat colours.
Just spending the weekend setting up a new site. WordPress is tricky, but once you get the hang of it it’s pretty easy to navigate. It’s just about getting those darn plugins to work the way you want them to.
After a lot of procrastination, I finally am finished (?) my first page of my book. Always feel free to comment/critique.
